The night of Friday May 20th come find your pearl on the waterfront: Newport Oyster Festival Opening Night Party to Benefit the Ocean State Aquaculture Association. Bowen's Wharf has been working hard with Dave Roebuck from Salt Pond Oysters to bring this festival together. We feel strongly about supporting local business, bringing growers together with restauranteurs, oenophiles, and fostering ocean based industries, which is why our 12+ growers on site will be there to show your their shucking skills and give you the inside story on aquaculture. Meet the men and women of Ocean State Shellfish Cooperative, Salt Pond Oysters, Venus Oyster Co., Jonathan Island Oyster Co. as well as Walrus and Carpenter, and many others! On site restaurants include: Fluke Wine, Bar & Restaurant, Matunuck Oyster Bar, and 22Bowen's, Diego's and The Wharf Pub just to name a few.
