Newport Daffodil Days Festival
Dates: April 14-22, 2018 Join us at Bowen's and Bannister's Wharves for the official Newport Daffodil Days Festival ribbon cutting! Muskets will be fired and the festival will begin to bloom throughout Newport. The URI Master Gardeners will be offering free seeds, special gardening tips and handing out the new Newport Harbor Walk maps from 1-3pm. Family fun, games, painting, live music, a daffy conga line and the crowning of the Daffodil King and Queen. Daffy deals and store specials for all those wearing a Daffy Pin. Start your visit at our Pilot House Newport for the pin and event brochure full of the activities throughout town.
Newport Waterfront Oyster Festival
Dates: May 18 (Opening Night Benefit Party, 6-8:30pm), May 19 & 20, 11am-5pm, 2018
Moët & Chandon together with Bowen's Wharf Company are proud to present the Newport Oyster Festival to promote Rhode Island-grown oysters. We can picture it now: you, enjoying Champagne & Oysters, on the waterfront, all weekend long! Did you know that RI is home to upwards of 45 oyster farms? The flavors are distinctive to each farm so this is your big chance to savor 13 kinds of them all in one festive atmosphere! Growers will be shucking alongside a select group of local restaurants under festival tents. Tickets are online now and include six free oysters and a beverage from our sponsors. You can also shop for favorites as you find them, meet the growers, and learn all about aquaculture. Restaurants that have RI oysters on their menus are included in the Rhode Island Oyster Trail. Sunday will see the return of the Shucking Contest at 3pm, supported in part by The Nature Conservancy of RI!

Bacardi Newport Sailing Week
BACARDI Newport Sailing Week presented by EFG Bank, runs June 23-25, 2017. The entire week is filled with exciting shoreside festivities and sailing that attracts sailors from all over the country. Staged at Newport Shipyard, eight one design fleets - Star, Viper 640, J/70, VX One, VX Evos, Diam 24s, A-Cats and classic day racers - will compete in three days of racing on the waters of Narragansett Bay. The photographic exhibit at Bowen's Wharf is accompanied by BACARDI events in bars and establishments throughout Newport.

From 6-9pm nightly during Newport Bridgefest you can get your groove on down at the waterfront and maybe take a water tour. Info at the Bowen's Wharf Pilot House. FREE, fun, family-friendly. The Newport Folk Festival and Newport Jazz Festival are time-honored hits and under new leadership from Newport Festivals Foundation Bridgefest joins these revered events as a way to offer folk and jazz the whole week long. Street festival? Kind of! Featured established & emerging musicians: Panoramic View (Caribbean Steel Drumming), Improm2(Jazz Duo), Bubble Visor (Upbeat Folk/Rock), Thatcher Harrison have performed in the past, new lineup TBD.

In-water basin and land displays will again feature Hinckley, Hunt and other Down East-style boats. You'll also find a beautiful array of wooden boats in the water at Bowen's Wharf Marina this September. Historic Bowen's Wharf in downtown Newport, RI, will host the 28th annual Bowen's Wharf Seafood Festival, on October 13th and 14th. Named one of the "10 Fabulous Fall Festivals on the Coast," by Coastal Living Magazine, this event is an open invitation to come back to the waterfront after the rush of the summer season!
Honoring the "Harvest of the Sea," the Bowen's Wharf Seafood Festival offers fresh, local seafood. Fish tacos, lobster rolls, fried calamari, oysters, signature cocktails and cold Whaler's Brewing beer accompany continuous live music, and family fun, all beneath the Wharf's colorful tents. Other neighboring restaurants and fisherman's associations serve up their most celebrated seafood dishes (lobster dinners, clam chowder, stuffed quahogs, clam cakes, shrimp, scallops, raw oysters and clams, as well as a few dishes for landlubbers and kids). Fresh smoothies, donuts and kettle corn for your sweet tooth. Cafe-style seating is set up throughout the Wharf and proceeds from festival bars benefit Oliver Hazard Perry, RI's new 200-foot official sailing education vessel which will be at Bowen's Wharf Marina and available for ship visits.

City of Newport lights up the harbor with the Illuminated Boat Parade. Caribbean Christmas and Holiday tunes on the steel pan with Panoramic View will be live at the North Pole. Watch the parade of lights from Bowen's Wharf while boats compete for best decorated. All our locally-owned shops and restaurants will be open -- many with special offers to make shopping for your loved ones, and yourself, a joy.
